Unfortunately, many Florida residents know the damage that a serious car accident can cause. While some people are lucky enough to escape unscathed, others might suffer serious injuries that lead them down a long road of hospitalization and rehabilitation. Such consequences can be both emotionally and financially difficult on a crash victim.
In a recent collision, the Florida Highway Patrol has determined that a 61-year-old man from Kissimmee was responsible for causing a three-car accident that left a police officer injured. When another driver is the cause of an accident, it may be possible for the victim to hold that driver accountable and obtain monetary compensation. Police say the 61-year-old man violated the right of way at an intersection.
The collision occurred last week just before 6:00 a.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 45-year-old driver attempted to swerve out of the way of the 61-year-old driver. The 45-year-old driver crashed into the police officer's car. Both the officer and the driver trying to avoid an accident were taken to hospitals for treatment. The Kissimmee man who violated the right of way was not hurt in the crash.
Florida Highway Patrol said they knew the man had violated the right of way because the light at the intersection flashes during nighttime hours. However, the crash is still under investigation.
Florida traffic laws exist to keep the state's drivers and pedestrians safe from harm. This incident shows what happen if someone does not follow traffic rules. Hopefully Florida drivers will do their best to adhere to traffic laws; it could go a long way toward preventing accidents like this one.
