Car accidents happen every day. It seems there's a report of a car crash in every newspaper and on every newscast. Some of these accidents result in tragedy. In a recent heart-wrenching incident, a "good Samaritan" was struck by a vehicle while assisting another motorist. The details of the incident are not entirely clear, but headlines did confirm that the good Samaritan had been killed.

Members of the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating the car accident, which took place in Volusia County late last week. Officers have confirmed the crash took place in the westbound lanes of Interstate 4. The collision occurred between Orange Camp Road and Cassadaga Road.

Police state that a motorist called 911 and reported the three-vehicle collision. The witness also reported that one individual was lying in the roadway. State troopers told reporters that a 28-year-old man had gotten out of his truck to render aid to a 24-year-old woman who had run out of gas. A third vehicle, driven by a 32-year-old man, crossed over the road's shoulder line and subsequently collided with the two parked vehicles and the 28-year-old man, who was killed.

There is currently no indication as to what may have caused the Volusia County crash, and local law enforcement is investigating. Pending the outcome of the investigation, if the driver who crashed into the parked cars is determined to be at fault, he could face charges. No additional reports have been released on the physical condition of the other accident victims. The crash forced officers to close one lane of traffic, but no traffic delays were reported in the area.
